Dave co-founded and led Jasper, the AI company that grew into a unicorn. He grew up playing golf with his dad and grandpa, but really fell in love with it after college, when the game became as much about time together as the score. Mackenzie grew from wanting more of that in everyday life. He wants a place to work on his game, see friends, and bring Amanda and their four kids for an evening they would choose even if nobody picked up a club. If the golf is great and everyone still wants to linger over dinner, he figures the club is doing its job.

Blake runs member experience, which means the details you notice and the hundred you never will. A Georgia native and University of Georgia grad, she comes to Mackenzie with experience at three Discovery properties: Driftwood Golf & Ranch Club, Dune Deck Beach Club, and Yellowstone Club. A year in Big Sky gave her a taste for mountain life and enough time on the slopes to become a decent skier. She’s newer to golf, but plans to work on that in the TrackMan Suites the moment they switch on. She’s also a big foodie. Ask her about her favorite Austin restaurants, but only if you’ve got nowhere to be.

Tyler leads membership, and the job fits him. He spent his career in commercial real estate brokerage, where every deal is earned one relationship at a time, and he walked into Mackenzie with a list of Austin golfers he already wanted to introduce to the club. Tour the club with him and you will come away knowing the people in it, not just the building. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Jordyn, has a baby daughter, Sofia, and the three of them are members of Austin Ridge. Weekends are for hosting friends around a home-cooked meal, mixing the cocktails himself, and following UT sports with unreasonable loyalty. He plays to a 2.5 and is chasing scratch.

Matt is the person most likely to have already played a round with you. His background spans commercial real estate and the golf industry, and he has a knack for bringing friends into the things he loves. One of Mackenzie’s first members, he’s helping Tyler and Dave grow the kind of club he wants to belong to, one introduction, round, and long lunch at a time. He and his wife, Meg, live in northwest Austin with their young daughter. Outside Mackenzie, life revolves around family, their church community, and the Texas Longhorns. He carries an 8.3 index and a suspiciously good short game. If he likes something, you’ll probably get an invitation.

Barton Creek Country Club

Chris is a longtime tech entrepreneur and co-founder of Jasper who has spent his career building and backing companies. He believed in and backed The Mackenzie Club before there was a lease, a design, or a single rendering. You’ll usually find him on the ranch with his wife, Chloe, and their four young kids, on the golf course, or at Veritas Academy coaching the high school football team and passing along his unhealthy obsession with the Air Raid offense. A Driftwood member who plays to a 3.5, Chris owns more putters and training aids than he probably should and has an opinion about every one of them, so the TrackMan Suites will have at least one member who has already tried everything. Ask him what’s in the bag or why 30 passes a game is just good football. Budget some time.
